Wordle: Innovation

The site that I used for this was the one of the president of the (ITIF) or The Information Technology & Innovation Foundation. Where he is talking about getting the government more involved in supporting our country to move forward even though we are in hard times at the moment, but it will help if we get moving and getting people better education for a quality price. This will also lead to us going up the ranks of the world in innovation and get us to the top with our competitors such as China and Australia.

Preliminary Links and Descriptions

This site is showing and talking about the rankings of soldiers in ancient Macedonia and Greece, but it is also explaining the building of their weapons such as the spears, shields, catapults, and bow with arrows during their battles and the casualties related to the use of these weapons.

This site talks about the period of Alexander The Greats fathers rule and his life growing up, but it also talks about Alexander himself and his conquests, battles, and lands he added to his own up to the time of his unlikely death at the age of 32.

This source gives a description of Alexander The Great and when he took over for his father, but also how he used what resources he had laying around to help him build an army with all of his scholarly knowledge about warfare and motivational speeches he gave to his men, in fact even how he was a critical thinker.

This site has information found by the (ITIF) or The Information Technology & Innovation Foundation about what the ranking of the individual states of the United States of America are and comparing them to those of other nations and countries over many years and how they are picking up or falling behind due to what they are doing at that moment.

This site has the statement made by the president of the (ITIF) or The Information Technology & Innovation Foundation which says that if the government does not cooperate with the business and corporations that are dealing with things to make America's future a brighter day, we will fall behind other nations who are the top innovators such as Australia and China. He also brings up statistics about manufacturing and how everything even the smallest product and detail can be improved if everyone comes together and works for a better tomorrow.

What I Would Like To Know About My Topic

While I perform research for my topic their are a few questions that I would wish to find answers to. They are as follows: 1) Which one of the modern day nations has surpassed their expectations for innovation in technology? 2) How could the lack of technology have a large impact on the lives of people through out the entire world? 3) What if Alexander the Great had not been the intelligent military leader and impressive strategist he was with the technology of his time? 4)Could it be that after the advancements of technology during the American Revolution and nowadays people have issues because of it? 5) Does it cause people to be violent towards others due to the lack of socializing with them and can it lead them to go over the edge? My general question to answer was "How is the technology of ancient civilizations similar to those of the modern day?"

What I Already Know About My Topic

The only things that I really know about Alexander the Great was that he conquered most of what is now Europe and what was the Persian empire. He was a brilliant military leader and a magnificent strategist. He used the technology of his time to his advantage and in very innovative ways. One way he won many of his battles was by having his men file up in rows and columns with large spears that they would put down and march forward and the spears would run through all the enemies he faced and if one of his men died another would take the place of that one to secure the marches stability. In the United States, I know that we have had two world wars. The first one began, because of the assassination of the Archduke Ferdinand. The United States and many other nations joined together towards the end of the war and created the United Nations. They and the countries who they fought against; decided to stop the war and they signed the treaty of Versailles. The technology of the united states during this time was not that developed and they had many casualties during this war.

The second world war had more casualties than any other war that the united states had ever fought in. They started the war neutral, but they still helped and supplied the other nations who needed the weapons and food. Later on, the United States joined in on the side of the United Nations, but it came to be only because we were attacked by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor during 1941. The technology was better developed and far more advanced than that of world war I. We had defeated the Axis Powers in 1945. The Japanese still believed they could still fight us they were warned to stop or we would bomb them they did not believe us, so we did just that and they still refused to give up and again we bombed them and finally the war was completely over they had admitted defeat. This is all that I know about my topic.

Story Behind My Topic

"I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion."
-Alexander the Great
I chose to use a quote by Alexander the Great to start out my topic about "how the technology of an ancient civilization is similar to that of one modern day nation?" The ancient civilization I chose to talk about was the nation of Alexander the Great, which is called Pena, Macedon. The modern day nation I chose to talk about is The United States of America, because they are the largest and strongest superpower on the face of the earth. I thought it was ironic how during the time period of Alexander the Great he controlled much of the land around Europe, so he was considered a superpower during his time. I will also be thinking about talking about some of their strategies during times of war.
